Product Recommendation of the Day: Paul Mitchell Original The Condtioner

Image
Name of the Product: Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner

Purpose of the Product: Leave-in moisturizer that helps balance moisture, prevent dryness and improves texture.

My Thoughts First and foremost, I want to mention that this product is VERY hydrating. I purchased this product in a 33.8 fl. oz. bottle (which is more than enough). A little goes a long way when applying this product. It is water-based and contains Hawaiian awapuhi (a ginger plant) which makes this product very rich in moisture. When I apply "The Conditioner" on my hair shaft, I'm able to get instant slip. My hair is able to detangle very easily with this product. I recommend that you apply this product on damp or dry hair. This product works well with the LOC Method. So, it is important that you seal the product with an oil or a cream (or both) to save the moisture in your hair. I have used this product for almost a month and I love it so far! Will I Purchase this product again? Most definitely! …

My 10 Curl Confessions

Image
Hey everyone! So, I have been tagged by @HuneyBflyy on Twitter to participate in this #CurlConfessions tag. So, I thought I would give it a try!

Curl Confession #1: When I first became completely natural, I never moisturized my hair everyday.

Curl Confession #2: In the beginning, when I used to wear Puff Ponytails, I would use a VERY HARD bristle brush to "smooth" my edges (Yikes!). I never realized how much I was damaging my hair.

Curl Confession #3: I don't clip my ends like I should. It's been a year and a half since I clipped my ends.

Curl Confession #4: When I completely became natural, I blew out my hair so much. So, I thought I needed to grease my scalp every time I blew out my hair (Thinking the Old School way).

Curl Confession #5: When I used to flat iron my hair a few years ago, I would apply grease on the entire shaft of my hair before I flat iron. I never realized how much my hair was weighed down and there was no movement in my hair.

Curl Confession #6: I use…

FAQ: "What Products do You Use?"

Image
Over the course of the months, I have received the most popular FAQ, "What products do you use?" The products that I currently use at the moment are not the same products that I have used in the beginning of my natural hair journey.

Wash Day I co-wash my hair with Pantene Truly Natural Hair Co-Wash.When it is time for a protein treatment, I use Aphogee Keratin Two Minute Reconstructor.I deep condition with a conditioner and an oil. The conditioner I use is the Tresemme Flawless Curls Curl Hydration Conditioner. The oils I use are the African Pride Olive Miracle Growth Oil (during the colder months) and the Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil (during the warmer months). Moisturizers/Leave-ins During the colder months, I like to use the Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter. During the warmer months, I like the use Paul Mitchell Original The Conditioner. Styling I love to use styling gels as my stylers. So, my favorite styler is the Olive Oil Eco Styler gel. Also, I like to u…

Product Recommendation of the Day: Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter

Image
Name of Product:  Camille Rose Naturals Almond Jai Twisting Butter

Purpose of Product: "To help achieve the ultimate soft fully Twist Out!"

My Thoughts
This product is one of the best twisting butters that I have tried so far. It is very hydrating and moisturizing to my hair. The scent of this styling product smells wonderful. Also, what I love about this product is the fact I do not have to apply so much on my hair shaft in order for it to "feel" moisturized. I prefer (and recommend) to apply this butter on wet/damp hair. Using this method helps, because the water that is on your hair helps the product to go down the hair shaft much easier. So, "a little goes a long way," due to the fact that this product is in an 8 oz jar.

Will I re-purchase this product?  Most definitely! I truly recommend that you try this twisting butter for your thick, natural hair! I purchased this product at my local Target store, but you can browse the Camille Rose Naturals' webs…
